Free/Libre vs Free/Gratis tonight on Computer America

It’s time for another two hour Linux fest on the Computer America radio show and it should be great. Join me tonight at 10:00 PM Eastern time (7:00 PM Pacific) for two hours of Linux. Once again, I want to emphasize that this is a live show with live callers and that is an invitation to you, mes amis. If you want to be on the air, just dial, toll free, 866-606-8255 (that’s 606-TALK) anytime during the show. It would be just fantastic to get some of you on the air tonight!! The second hour will feature Linux podcast aggregators and podcasting software. In the first hour, however, we’re going to be talking about FREE and what it means in the Linux and Open Source world. Free/Libre vs Free/Gratis. Why free and open source software is good for the world and why it’s good for business too. This is a great time to call in a voice your opinion and have your say on this important subject.

Computer America goes out to some 200 stations across the United States. You can listen to the show on streaming audio or live on local radio stations across the United States who carry the Computer America radio program. To find a station near you or to listen online, click yon link.

If you are using mplayer, try this little trick from the command line to tune in without having to go through the Website and it’s Microsoft’ish player.

mplayer -cache 128 'mms://64.92.199.76/BusinessTalkRadio-IN' -identify

There’s also a Java chat page available so you can take part in the live show and ask questions. Just follow this links. MP3s of the show will be made available soon afterwards. I’ll post those on my Website sometime tomorrow.
