Two more Call for Help shows today

This morning (Friday, October 14th, 2005), I was in the G4TechTV studio taping two more episodes of Call for Help with Leo Laporte, Amber MacArthur, Sean Carruthers, Mike, Lazazzera, and all the gang. As usual, I had a great time which says a lot about the great people I get to work with up (down?) there.

For those who are keeping track of such things, we taped episodes #280 and #289. The topic for the first episode was “Live Linux distros” where I explained what exists, what sets them apart, and what a new user might want to look at first. I also took the opportunity to demo the new Ubuntu 5.10 Breezy Badger release.

The second episode had to do with administering desktop Linux systems. I pointed out that different distros provide different tools (eg: YaST, drakconf, etc), but that most of the day to day desktop configuration can be done through KControl under KDE (the KDE control center) and the GNOME Control Center when using GNOME.

At this stage, I can’t tell you what the air dates will be, but the episode numbers should help in identifying the shows.
